Persona
One Instruction, Rules, and Skills bundle — applied across your AI apps
A Persona is a reusable setup for how your AI should work. You write it once, then apply the same bundle to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Antigravity — instead of copying AGENTS.md, rules, and skills into each host by hand.
Personas live on this device under {{HOME_DIR}}/.transcodes/personas/<name>/. Create and edit them in the CLI dashboard or with transcodes persona. After install, run transcodes in a terminal — the dashboard opens at http://127.0.0.1:3847.
Persona is not an RBAC role and not a Console member. Roles decide what a token may do. A Persona decides how the agent writes and behaves in your editors.
What a Persona contains
| Kind | What it is | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| Instruction | Standing identity — role, context, how we work, output. Deploys to host files such as AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md. | Instruction |
| Rule | One focused policy: when it loads (globs), what must happen, what must never happen. | Rules |
| Skill | A repeatable workflow in SKILL.md, with optional references/, scripts/, and assets/. | Skills |
How it fits
Push and pull from the dashboard syncs the same bundle with Transcodes Cloud so another machine can pull it. Apply still writes host files on this device. See Apply.
