What is VIN?

Clean Vehicle History Report

The vehicle appeared to have no major issues at a glance, and when they checked the vehicle history report, no significant problems were detected either.

But clean history does not guarantee actual clean title

Problem 1 : Airbag Signal

Mexpert conducted meticulous vehicle inspections using specialized professional equipment to ensure no issues are overlooked.

As you can see in the image, the airbag warning light is on.

Upon inspection, it was found that the impact sensor mounted on the bumper was not receiving signals, and records confirmed that the left airbag had deployed.

Problem 2: Traces of Welding

The vehicle already had many signs of repairs and welding.

The circled area in the photo should be clear on a vehicle in good condition, but there are bolts present.

It is presumed that work was done to secure the body during replacement

Problem 3: Two VINs in one car

A vehicle should only have one VIN number.

No Exception.

However, this vehicle has two VIN numbers.

The number on the left door did not match.

It appears that the door of this car was replaced with a door from another vehicle.

It was probably to conceal that it is a damaged vehicle

Problem 4: Signs of Flooding

This photo shows the rear trunk area.

The corrosion is clearly visible, suggesting that it was filled with water.

We can presume that the vehicle aws a ‘flood-damaged vehicle’.

Problem 5: Steering System

As you can see in the image, you can notice oil spilled on the asphalt.

It appears that the rack and pinion steering system is damaged.

There was a clunking noise when turning the steering wheel, and it is suspected that this part’s failure was the cause

Problem 6: Tires need to be replaced

Conclusion

As a result of the thorough vehicle inspection conducted by Mexpert’s mechanics, multiple evidences indicated that the vehicle, despite its seemingly intact exterior, had been involved in accidents.

Most importantly, this vehicle had previously deployed airbags. This means that in the event of a future collision, the airbags may not deploy, posing a serious safety risk.

Still, this vehicle was listed as ‘NORMAL’ in terms of its condition. However, if repairs are done privately without involving insurance companies, or if the owner performs DIY repairs, the record will still show as ‘NORMAL’.

Had the customer purchased the vehicle based solely on the vehicle history report without a real inspection, they could have faced substantial repair costs and losses.

This is precisely why we recommend getting an ‘pre purchase inspection’.

At Mexpert, we not only compare vehicle accident records and safety inspection records but also check for hidden accident histories, defects, and potential hazards.

Our professional mechanics verify the safety of used cars by inspecting over 80 different points, including vehicle defects, accident history, parts replacement timing, tire wear, and more.
